1927 Vega #2 Whyte Laydie Conversion
1927 Vega #2 Whyte Laydie that started its life as a plectrum banjo but we just had it converted to a 5 string by our banjo tech. The neck that was used is brand new from Eastman, the same one used on their EBJ-WL1 model, and it is of very high quality and very fitting (no pun intended) for this banjo. The tone is absolutely beautiful with wonderful richness and depth while still maintaining great clarity and note separation. The setup is very comfortable though someone who plays a heavy handed frailing style may opt for a slightly taller bridge. 10-15/16" pot, 25-5/8" scale length, 1-1/4" nut width. Replacement bridge and "no knot" tailpiece, Five Star tuners. Our banjo tech believes the skin head to be original to the banjo, though inside the head is stamped "Ludwig trademark selected, will fit Vega". Comes with a modern Gold Tone hardshell case in like new condition.
