The Gold Tone CC-OT is arguably the best value available for a quality clawhammer/old time style banjo. Boasting features usually found on higher priced banjos, and packaged with banjo instruction/strap/gig bag, this is everything and more for the aspiring old time banjo player. Gold Tone markets this banjo to folks starting out, but to our fingers and ears there is no reason this instrument can't be used in any professional setting. It has a beautiful depth to the tone with still enough snap and attack to be heard well in any ensemble. Very balanced and a joy to play. 1/2" maple rim, rolled brass tone hoop, Fyberskin (synthetic skin) head, No-Knot tailpiece, early 1900's style armrest, frailing scooped neck, 7th fret railroad spike, 23-3/16" scale length, 1-3/16" nut width. Comes with a download card for banjo instruction, strap, and gig bag.
