2009 Heiden A5 in excellent condition. There are some sparse and small indentations here and there but none that take away from the beauty of the mandolin and nothing that doesn't take some scrutiny to notice.

We have been fortunate enough to have several of Michael Heiden's mandolins come through our shop over the years and while all of his instruments have been incredible, this one truly stands out to us. The tone is a masterful blend of power and sweetness that responds equally well to any level of pick technique. From the lightest touch to hard bluegrass picking, this mandolin always delivers a beautiful dynamic tone with just the right balance of woody/fundamental power and a subtle yet rich depth. Crystal clear note separation and definition in every position.

This mandolin recently had a complete re-fret and set up by a highly respected luthier and it plays like an absolute dream all the way up the neck. We have been doing this long enough to know that not every mandolin is for everyone, but we can safely say that this one is definitely someone's Holy Grail instrument.

Red spruce top, Sugar maple back/sides/neck, varnish finish, fully bound in w/b/w ivoroid binding, bound ebony pick guard, ebony fretboard, ebony adjustable bridge, classic "flower pot" pearl headstock inlay, pearl position markers, Waverly tuners, Bill James engraved tailpiece, ebony endpin with pearl "eye", adjustable truss rod, strap button at neck heel, radiused fretboard, 1-1/8" bone nut. Comes with a MainStage/Canadian Calton case (shows a few scratches) and bearing the Heiden logo on the ID plate.
